[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTHUNDER BAY, ON, March 24 /CNW/ - Benton Resources Corp. (BTC-TSX-V)\n("Benton"), Royal Roads Corp. (RRO-TSX-V) ("Royal Roads"), and Golden Dory\nResources Limited (GDR-TSX-V) ("Golden Dory") are pleased to announce approval\nof a CDN$250,000 2009 Exploration Program and Budget on their 222 km(2) Long\nRange Nickel joint venture in central Newfoundland. The program includes\nprospecting, ground geophysical surveys and diamond drilling designed to\nfollow-up conductive anomalies identified by airborne geophysical surveys\ncompleted by Geotech Ltd. in 2008. Work has commenced with geophysical crews\nactive on the property. The program is expected to extend into Q3-09, with\nprospecting and geophysical surveys to be complete in July, followed by\ndiamond drilling. Among the targets selected for further work is a 600 metre\nlong VTEM conductive anomaly described by Geotech Ltd. as "a relatively strong\nconductor consistent with massive sulphides". This target has been selected\nfor testing by diamond drilling, and it is anticipated that additional targets\nwill be developed from results of the prospecting and ground geophysical\nsurveys.\n\n\nApproximately 30 conductive anomalies have been selected for ground\nfollow-up, including anomalies identified near a recently discovered\nnickel-copper sulphide showing where prospecting identified gabbro containing\ndisseminated, magmatic-textured, pentlandite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite.\nAssays from the showing yielded anomalous nickel and copper values of up to\n0.28% Ni and 0.36% Cu. Based on these results it is postulated that any\npotential nearby massive sulphide accumulation could host nickel and copper\ngrades comparable to other magmatic nickel sulphide deposits in North America\nincluding Vale-Inco's Voisey's Bay mine in Labrador and Kennecott's Eagle\ndeposit in northern Michigan.\n\n\nThe joint venture covers a 5 x 20 km gabbroic complex, recently\nrecognized as being prospective for nickel-copper-sulphides. The property is\nlocated close to infrastructure including a 15 MW hydroelectric facility 25 km\nnortheast of the claims. Power lines connecting the facility to the provincial\ngrid cross the property. A paved highway also traverses the property and\nprovides access to port facilities 50 km to the west. The area is considered\n...
