THUNDER BAY, ON, March 30 /CNW/ - Benton Resources Corp. (BTC-TSX-V) ("Benton" or the "Company"), is pleased to announce that it has appointed William Harper to the Board of Directors, effective March 24, 2009. "Mr. Harper is a professional accountant with more than 25 years experience in corporate finance and administration with public companies listed in both Canada and the United States, primarily in the mining and high technology industries. Currently he is the Vice-President Finance and Corporate Secretary of a company listed on the TSX Exchange. Prior to joining that company, he was the Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary, and Director of several public companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.
In addition Benton has hired Clair Calvert for the purpose of I.R throughout western Canada and has also maintained its contract with First Canadian Capital to handle eastern Canada. Mr. Clair Calvert has been a stock broker with various companies since 1979 and was also a partner at Yorkton Securities from 1989 to 1996. Since 1996, Mr. Calvert has been self employed as a consultant providing both financial and investor relation services. He is well travelled and very connected in the business community both in Canada and internationally. Benton's management is pleased to have Mr. Harper and Mr. Calvert join our team.
Benton has agreed, subject to regulatory approval, to grant a total of 2,350,000 incentive stock options to certain directors, officers, employees and consultants of the Company, exercisable at a price of $0.28, expiring March 26, 2014.
