[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTHUNDER BAY, ON, Aug. 6 /CNW/ - Benton Resources Corp (BTC: TSX.V,\n"Benton" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the following exploration\nupdate from the Company's ongoing exploration programs.\n\n\nGolden Harp "Block A": Benton has completed a work program consisting of\nline cutting, ground geophysics (induced polarization (IP) and magnetic),\nmapping and a soil geochemical survey. Of particular interest was the results\nof the soil survey where several individual samples returned (greater than)0.5\ngpt Au with the highest value returning 5.11 gpt Au. The soil geochemical\nanomaly up to 900 metres (m) long, is coincident with a moderate to strong IP\nchargeability response, and occurs along strike to the north west of the MC\nZone where diamond drilling in 2008 by Golden Harp Resources Inc. intersected\n3.6 gpt gold over 9.0m (including 14.29 gpt Au over 2.0m) from hole GH-019.\nBenton is planning a substantial drill program to systematically test the new\ncoincident soil and IP anomaly and the MC Zone, as well as follow-up drilling\nat the Cook Zone where Benton's diamond drill program completed in June\nreturned grades of 5.03 gpt Au over 8.5m in GH09-01, 11.9 gpt Au over 5.5m in\nGH09-02, and 21.41 gpt Au over 3.0m (including 40.2 gpt Au over 1.5m) in\nGH09-06 The Golden Harp Block A property is located approximately 100 km south\nof Timmins and 87 km southwest of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Benton is currently\nin the midst of earning up to a 70% interest in the property (Benton P.R March\n12, 2009).\n\n\nSaganaga Gold Project: Grid establishment has been finished and ground\ngeophysical surveys (IP and magnetics) are almost complete. A compilation of\navailable data has produced several drill targets that will be followed up on\nas soon as possible. Drilling will target the Powell gold zone where\nhistorical drilling intersected 36.6 gpt Au over 5.3m, the newly discover\nMegan zone where selected surface grab samples returned grades as high as 75.0\ngpt gold, and the Starr Zone where Teck ("Teck") Resources Limited's final\nhole of an 11-hole program intersected 5.36 gpt Au over 20.0m.
