[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n \n \n RNS Number : 0838S\n SigmaRoc PLC\n 11 November 2021\n \n \n \n \n 11 November 2021\n \n \n \n \n \n (EPIC: SRC / Market: AIM / Sector: Construction Materials)\n \n \n \n \n \n SIGMAROC PLC\n \n \n \n \n \n (\n '\n SigmaRoc\n '\n , \n the 'Company' or the 'Group'\n )\n \n \n \n \n \n Greenbloc UK first to achieve EPD Status \n \n \n SigmaRoc (AIM: SRC), the AIM quoted buy-and-build construction materials group, is pleased to announce that Greenbloc has become the first cement-free concrete block to achieve Environmental Product Declaration ('EPD'), administered by\n \n The International EPD® System.\n \n \n The EPD is classed as a type III environmental declaration with ISO 14025, and provides transparent and credible information about the environmental impact of a product throughout its lifecycle - from material extraction, through to manufacturing, useage and end of life.\n \n \n Achieving EPD marks a significant next step for Greenbloc and its potential as a one-for-one replacement of traditional cement based concrete blocks. Manufactured to British Standard EN 771 - 3: (2011), Greenbloc also complies with Part E of the Building Regulations for Walls and Floors and has no compromise on strength compared to ordinary cement based blocks. \n \n \n \n \n \n Max Vermorken, CEO of SigmaRoc commented:\n \n \n \"Greenbloc receiving the EPD is a significant milestone for our ultra-low carbon building block. Many large developers require EPD certification to ensure the environmental and technical credentials of the product are independently certified.
