To date 15 drill holes have been completed with coal identified in all but one drill hole at the southern end of the basin. Drilling has identified coal bearing strata over a lateral strike distance of 4,500m and to a depth in excess of 90m and remains open ended both along strike to the north and at depth down dip. Drilling will continue to be undertaken on a grid pattern with north-south line spacing at 500m intervals. Once the Mkomolo Basin drilling is completed the drilling rig will move south to the Namwele Basin.\n \nThe first drill hole, MK11-01, which is located towards the southern end of the Mkomolo Basin, was drilled to a depth of 42m and intersected a 3.8m section of coal bearing strata between 32.34m and 36.15m. Detailed float and sink analysis has been undertaken by the Inspectorate Laboratory in South Africa, which indicates the amount (%yield) and quality of coal that could be obtained from the deposit by coal processing. Extracts from the results are summarised below.\n \n\n\n\n\nFrom\n\n\nTo\n\n\nInterval\n\n\nMoisture\n\n\nAsh\n\n\nVolatile\n\n\nF.C.\n\n\nSulphur\n\n\nGross C.V.\n\n\nCumulative Yield\n\n\nGeology\n\n\n\n\n(m)\n\n\n(m)\n\n\n(m)\n\n\n%\n\n\n%\n\n\n%\n\n\n%\n\n\n%\n\n\nMJ/kg\n\n\n%\n\n\n\n\n32.34\n\n\n33.03\n\n\n0.69\n\n\n4.2\n\n\n40.1\n\n\n24.7\n\n\n31.0\n\n\n5.77\n\n\n16.52\n\n\n41.06\n\n\nMudstone with Coal laminations\n\n\n\n\n33.32\n\n\n33.84\n\n\n0.52\n\n\n4.2\n\n\n28.5\n\n\n30.7\n\n\n36.5\n\n\n8.31\n\n\n21.41\n\n\n40.22\n\n\nInterbedded Mudstone and Coal\n\n\n\n\n35.08\n\n\n36.15\n\n\n1.07\n\n\n5.1\n\n\n23.9\n\n\n31.4\n\n\n39.6\n\n\n4.63\n\n\n22.65\n\n\n84.48\n\n\nCoal with minor Mudstone laminations\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCumulative Results from Fractional analysis (Results are reported on an air-dry basis)\n \n\n\n\n\nThe results confir...
