[{"type":"text","content":"\n Scott Wilson Group plc\n17 April 2008\n\n\n\n17 April 2008\n\n Scott Wilson Group plc\n\n Joint Venture Strengthens Presence in South-West China\n\n\nScott Wilson Group plc (\"Scott Wilson\" or \"the Group\"), the international\nconsultancy offering integrated professional services in the transportation,\nproperty, environment and natural resources sectors today announces a strategic\njoint venture with the Chongqing Communications Planning Survey & Design\nInstitute in South-West China.\n\nThe joint venture, Chongqing Scott Wilson, will capitalise on the combined\nstrength of the two organisations and create additional business opportunities\nacross the region. Established in 1984, the Design Institute is a premier\nservice provider for the study, design and implementation of comprehensive\ntransportation infrastructure. This will compliment Scott Wilson's strong\nreputation in China for the planning, design and construction of property\ndevelopments; environmental services; power and energy, mining and water and\nwastewater services.\n\nScott Wilson has a strong presence in China operating in virtually every\nprovince and municipality since the mid-1980s. It now employs over 900 members\nof staff in the region, currently working on a number of high profile\ninternational projects. The new Chongqing office is Scott Wilson's ninth in\nGreater China, with other major centres in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong,\nTianjin, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzen and Zhengzhou. The office in Chongqing will\nbenefit from its location within the key industrial centre and logistics hub for\nSouth-West China.\n\nCommenting on today's announcement, Geoff French, Executive Chairman of Scott\nWilson, said: \"This joint venture increases the scope of our international\nbusiness and creates exciting, new opportunities to serve clients in western and\nsouth western China particularly in property and environmental services.
