[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 5092M Severfield-Rowen PLC 17 August 2011 \n \n\n \nSeverfield-Rowen Plc wins Leadenhall Building sub-contract\n \nSeverfield-Rowen Plc, the UK's leading structural steel contracting group, is pleased to announce the award by Laing O'Rourke, of the structural steelwork sub-contract in respect of The Leadenhall Building in London's EC3, also known as 'The Cheesegrater'.\n \nThe iconic 52 storey, 736 ft (238m) Leadenhall tower has been designed by architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Arups, for British Land Company PLC and Oxford Properties.\n \nThe 610,000 sq ft development will feature a tapered glass façade on one side which will reveal the steel bracings combined with a complex ladder frame aimed to enhance its vertical appearance. The base will feature a 30 metre high atrium. It is set to become one of the tallest buildings in the City of London.\n \nChief Operating Officer for Severfield-Rowen, Peter Emerson, said,\n \n\"We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract, which reflects the confidence by Laing O'Rourke in the Group's engineering and construction skills. We have a long track record of successful project delivery with Laing O'Rourke. Leadenhall Street is a significant contract award for Severfield-Rowen and will be produced across all of our four manufacturing facilities in the UK.
