[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\n\n/NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION IN THE UNITED STATES OR OVER UNITED STATES WIRE\n SERVICES/\n\n\nTORONTO, May 15, 2013 /CNW/ - Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation (TSX: SC)\n today announced that it has priced the issuance of $225 million\n aggregate principal amount of 2.01% unsecured medium term notes, Series\n 5, due May 24, 2016 for aggregate net proceeds of $224,392,500, as well\n as the issuance of $275 million aggregate principal amount of 2.36%\n unsecured medium term notes, Series 6, due May 24, 2018 for aggregate\n net proceeds of $273,933,000. The notes will be offered pursuant to\n pricing supplements to the Company's short form base shelf prospectus\n dated January 6, 2012. The pricing supplements will be filed with the\n securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces of Canada.\n RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., CIBC World Markets\n Inc., TD Securities Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., National Bank\n Financial Inc. and Desjardins Securities Inc. are acting as agents with\n respect to these offerings. The issuance of these notes is expected to\n close on or about May 21, 2013 and the net proceeds will be used to\n refinance existing indebtedness, including repayment of all amounts\n outstanding under the Company's $450 million aggregate principal amount\n of 4.99% unsecured medium term notes, Series 2, due June 3, 2013. As a\n result of using the net proceeds to refinance existing indebtedness,\n the consolidated net debt position of the Company is expected to remain\n substantially unchanged.\n\n\nThese offerings are only being made by way of prospectus.
