[{"type":"text","content":"\n Seeing Machines Limited\n10 April 2006\n\n\n\n Seeing Machines Limited\n ('Seeing Machines' or the 'Company')\n\n\n\nMonday 10 April 2006\n\n Seeing Machines Wins Major Industry Awards for Glaucoma Project\n\n\nSeeing Machines (AIM:SEE) was awarded two iAwards at the AIIA's gala\npresentation dinner last Friday night (7 April) for its glaucoma diagnostic\ndevice development.\n\n• The 'Local Industry Award' - for the most innovative ICT project\n undertaken by an Australian local industry company (small-to-medium enterprise),\n and\n\n• The 'Research and Development Award' - for the most outstanding ICT R&\n D project\n\nThe iAwards, Australia's premier industry awards for the Information and\nCommunications Technology (ICT) sector, are awarded by the Australian\nInformation Industry Association (AIIA) for outstanding ICT solutions across 15\ncategories from Agriculture & Primary Industries, e-Government & Service,\nResearch & Development through to Tourism & Hospitality. In addition there are\nfive major awards: the Local Industry Award, Community Award, Innovative\nCommercial Software Award, the Inspiration Award and the CSIRO Tony Benson\nAward.\n\nSeeing Machines won the iAward for the Research and Development category, and\nthen also picked up the major Local Industry Award for the most innovative ICT\nproject undertaken by an Australian SME.\n\nSeeing Machines is developing the world's first non-contact objective device for\ndiagnosing glaucoma and a range of other eye diseases, utilising its\nmarket-leading, patent-protected computer vision technology. These national\nawards recognize the progress that has been made to date in this project and the\nsignificant commercial opportunity arising from the pioneering work of the\nSeeing Machines team and its colleagues at the Research School of Biological\nSciences at the Australian National University.
