[{"type":"text","content":"\n Liberty PLC\n08 May 2007\n\n\n\nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n\n8th May 2007\n\n\n\n LIBERTY PLC:\n\n APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE\n\n\n\nLiberty Plc ('Liberty'), the iconic West End emporium 68% owned by Marylebone\nWarwick Balfour Group Plc, today announces that it has appointed Geoffroy de La\nBourdonnaye, 50, as its new Chief Executive with effect from 1st July 2007.\n\n\nGeoffroy joins from LVMH where he was President of its Christian Lacroix fashion\nlabel subsidiary for the past four years. At Christian Lacroix he was\nresponsible for the rejuvenation of the brand by upgrading and streamlining the\nwomenswear lines, developing a range of complementary luxury accessories and\nthrough the highly successful launch of a new fragrance.\n\n\nBefore joining LVMH Geoffroy, who has an MBA from INSEAD, held senior brand\nmanagement, retail and marketing roles within L'Oreal, Pepsico and Disney. He\nspent 13 years at The Walt Disney Company where he developed its emerging\nmarkets consumer products division as well as being responsible for the\nturnround of the UK and Ireland subsidiary.\n\n\nRichard Balfour-Lynn, Chairman of Liberty, said: 'I am delighted that Geoffroy\nis joining us. He brings a wealth of international brand management and\ndevelopment experience to the business at a time when our Liberty of London\nluxury brand is poised to expand dramatically.
