[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 3522T Scientific Digital Imaging Plc 27 September 2010 \n \n\n27 September 2010 \n \nSCIENTIFIC DIGITAL IMAGING PLC\n(\"SDI\" or \"the Company\")\n \nNow Trading Within the AIM Healthcare Equipment & Services Sector\n \n \nSDI, is pleased to announce that it has now been reclassified by FTSE Group into the Healthcare Equipment and Services sector (sub-sector: Medical Equipment), having previously been classified as Electronic and Electrical Equipment, as the Directors feel the Healthcare Equipment and Services Sector is more representative of the majority of business undertaken by the Company. \n \nSDI designs, manufactures and sells imaging equipment predominantly to the life science research sector, with customers including medical research institutes and pharmaceutical companies. Its products are used to document, analyse and record experiments and to carry out routine quality assurance tasks. \n \nSDI operates two business entities:\n \n· Synoptics - which makes imaging products for the Life Sciences laboratory industry, and\n \n· Atik - which makes specialist digital cameras that are used in astronomy, but also in many Synoptics products\n \n \nCommenting on the Sector change, Harry Tee CBE, Chairman of SDI said: \"The Healthcare Equipment and Services Sector is a better fit for SDI, given that almost all of our clients operate within the life science sector.
