The final decision will be issued once the Section 106 agreement is completed and the Secretary of State confirms they will not call in the application.\n \n \n The permission comes in the same week as AFC Bournemouth reaching European football for the first time in the club's 127-year history which has been an important objective behind the redevelopment proposals.\n \n \n The football cub has been seeking to carry out a major redevelopment and expansion of the Stadium with the support of Savills, as lead planning consultant, advising on a wide range of aspects including landscape, sustainability, ecology, noise, air quality, development and economics to ensure the optimal result for the club's works.\n \n \n The news marks a significant step forwards after 14 months since first engaging with the BCP Planning Department regarding its proposals to enhance and modernise the home of AFC Bournemouth football. The proposals are designed to secure the long-term future of top-flight football in Bournemouth while delivering meaningful community and infrastructure improvements that benefit the club and wider community across the BCP area.\n \n \n The planning obligation package is worth in excess of £1 million and includes measures aimed at addressing parking pressures in surrounding residential streets, improving sustainable travel infrastructure and uptake, and improving Kings Park for the benefit of all.\n \n \n Peter Lamb, head of Wimborne Planning at Savills, said: \"We're delighted that the plans for the redevelopment of Vitality Stadium have been approved in principle by BCP Council following significant support from local residents, businesses and from the BCP Planning Department itself.
