(NASDAQ:SRPT), the leader in precision genetic medicine for rare diseases, today announced it had completed the sale of its Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher (PRV). Sarepta received a payment of $102 million upon completion of the sale.\n\n\nSarepta was awarded the PRV following U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accelerated approval of ELEVIDYS (delandistrogene moxeparvovec-rokl) for the treatment of ambulatory pediatric patients aged 4 through 5 years with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) with a confirmed mutation in the DMD gene.\n\n\nUnder the Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher Program, FDA awards priority review vouchers to sponsors of rare pediatric disease product applications that meet certain criteria. The program is intended to encourage development of new drugs and biologics for the prevention and treatment of rare pediatric diseases.
