[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, March 8 /CNW/ - Starfire Minerals Inc. (the "Company") is\npleased to announce that Mr. Philip J. Rush, P. Geo. has agreed to join the\nCompany as the Qualified Person as that term is defined in National Instrument\n43-101 and has been appointed a Director. He has also agreed to engage his\nservices as a contractor/consultant to the Company and among other matters\nwill oversee the Company's exploration projects throughout Canada. Mr. Freeman\nSmith has resigned his position as Director as Mr. Rush will be assuming that\nrole.\n\n\nPhilip J. Rush P. Geo. received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology\nfrom St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia in 1970. He\njoined The International Nickel Company of Canada Limited (later, Inco\nLimited) in the Mines Exploration Department at Thompson Manitoba in 1970 and\nbecame Mine Geologist, Thompson Mine in 1974.\n\n\nIn 1976, Mr. Rush was assigned to Inco's U.S. exploration subsidiary,\nAmerican Copper & Nickel Company, Inc., in Spokane, Washington where he was\nExploration Manager, Northwest District, from 1980 thru 1991. During this\nperiod, he conceived, executed, and managed in-house and joint venture\nexploration programs for sedimentary exhalative lead-zinc, volcanogenic\nmassive sulphide copper-lead-zinc, uranium, nickel and gold deposits in\nAlaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.\n\n\nIn 1991 Mr. Rush was appointed Exploration Manager, Western North America\nfor Inco Exploration and Technical Services in Vancouver, British Columbia.\nHis area of responsibility included western Canada and the western United\nStates. In 1997, Mr. Rush was elected President of American Copper & Nickel\nCompany, Inc., a post that he held until 2005.\n\n\nIn 1997, Mr. Rush was appointed Director of Exploration, North America,\nInco Technical Services Limited in Mississauga, Ontario. Subsequent\nresponsibilities as Director included worldwide field exploration, Manitoba\nand Ontario Division exploration, and exploration administration. He retired\nfrom Inco in January, 2005.\n\n\nMr. Rush's expertise is in prospect evaluations and mineral property\nagreements.
