[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTSXV: SFR\n\n\nVANCOUVER, July 7 /CNW/ - Starfire Minerals is pleased to announce that\nit has engaged On Track Exploration Ltd. to manage its 2008 diamond drill\nprogram at the Company's Porphyry Pearl copper-gold porphyry property in the\nToodoggone District, British Columbia. DMAC Drilling Ltd. of Langley, BC has\nbeen awarded the 4,300-meter drill contract. Mobilization of equipment and\npersonnel is underway, and the program will commence in early July.\n\n\nThe 2008 drill campaign will expand on the intersections in holes\nPP-07-05 and PP-07-06 announced in the Company's news release of November 26,\n2007. Hole PP-07-06 will be re-entered and completed as it was prematurely\nterminated by the onset of winter conditions on September 29, 2007. As\nreported in the release, hole PP-06-07 averages 0.383 grams of gold per tonne\nover its entire core length, including 31 meters from 123 to 154 meters\naveraging 1.039 grams of gold per tonne. The hole bottomed in mineralized\nmaterial (0.281 grams gold per tonne) at 166.12 meters. The deepening of hole\nPP-07-06 will be followed by step-out holes.\n\n\nThe Company has also completed a diamond drill program on its Langmuir\nSouth nickel property near Timmins, Ontario. The program was a follow-up to\nhorizontal loop electromagnetic and magnetic surveys that completed coverage\nof the property. The purpose was to determine if there are shallow targets\nthat should be tested before resuming step-out on the down-plunge extension of\nthe Langmuir South zone that is indicated by the intersection of 3.66% Ni over\ncore length of 6.65 meters in hole EL06-03. Between September 2007 and\nJune 2008, the Company completed 1,193 meters of drilling in 12 shallow holes\nto test the EM and magnetic targets resulting from the survey. While no\n"ore-grade" intervals were drilled, a significant anomalous intersection in\nhole EL-08-18 of 0.24% Ni over a core length of 34 meters in komatiites near\nthe intersection of 3.51% Ni over core length of 1.5 meters in hole EL-07-06\nsuggests that a second zone lies to the north of the South Zone. Further\ncompilation of the results of the program in the context of historic drilling\nis in progress to design an appropriate drill program to effectively test this\ntarget in addition to the down-plunge extension of the South zone.\n\n\nStarfire'...
