[{"type":"text","content":"\n Sabien Technology Group PLC\n24 May 2007\n\n\n Sabien Technology Group plc welcomes Energy White Paper focus\n on energy saving\n\n- Royal Bank of Scotland M2G installations delivers savings in excess of 25% and\n CO2 emissions reduction of 3,835 tons -\n\n\nLondon, May 24, 2007 - Sabien Technology Group plc ('Sabien'), which \nmanufactures and sells M2G, a micro processor based product that helps reduce \ncarbon emissions and fuel consumption of commercial boiler systems, welcomed the\nincreased support that its M2G technology will receive as a result of the\nGovernment's focus on energy saving as announced in the Energy White Paper\nyesterday.\n\nSpecifically, the Government has announced it will create the right incentives\nfor long-term investment by businesses in cost-effective energy efficiency\nmeasures, improve information for businesses and set now the future regulatory\nframework that will drive improvements in the energy efficiency of commercial\nbuildings.\n\nCommenting on the White Paper, Alan O'Brien, CEO of Sabien said,\n\n'While warmly welcoming the broad-ranging and numerous initiatives outlined in\nWhite Paper to encourage energy saving in businesses and in the public sector,\nwe find the biggest barriers for companies and institutions undertaking energy\nefficiency initiatives are the associated project costs and the need for\nvalidation of energy consumption and carbon emissions reduction claims.\n\n'Our technology is proven to reduce energy consumption allowing businesses to\nsee that we can clearly deliver on their investment. We believe the financial\nimperative to save money and deliver value will drive the energy efficiency and\nthe renewable energy industry as much as the need to address climate change.'\n\nSabien has demonstrated this value for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group\n('RBSG'). In 2004, RBSG installed its first phase of Sabien's M2G technology at\nits selected Ulster Bank sites (Ulster Bank is owned by The Royal Bank of\nScotland). After extensive trials, energy savings in excess of 25% were\nachieved.\n\nOn the successful completion of phase one, the bank commenced a wider rollout of\nM2G and The Royal Bank of Scotland Group now has 600 M2G units installed in over\n200 of its sites across the UK and Northern Ireland.
