DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH MEDOS OF GERMANY
AorTech International, ('AorTech') the Scottish based
manufacturer of cardiovascular devices, announces that it
has concluded a Distribution Agreement with MEDOS, a major
cardiovascular device company in Germany. The agreement is
for the sale of AorTech's established replacement heart
valve products i.e. the Ultracor Mechanical Valve, the
Tissue Heart Valve and the Mitral Repair System.
Eddie McDaid, AorTech's Managing Director commented:
'We are delighted to have concluded this Distribution
Agreement with MEDOS who, with their own cardiovascular
devices product range, have a significant market share in
Germany. Our core product range is presently marketed in
Germany through a restricted number of Open Heart Centres
and MEDOS, with their nationwide sales force, will be able
to sell our complementary products into the rest of the Open
Heart Centres in Germany. The German heart valve replacement
market represents approximately 26% of the European market
and is the single most important market in Europe and the
second most important in the world. This Agreement shows
continued acceptance of our product lines.'
Karl Heinz Hildinger, Managing Director of MEDOS, which has
over 15% of the German cardiopulmonary product market, in
sales terms, said:
'We are pleased to have concluded a Distribution Agreement
for AorTech's heart valve replacement products which will
complement our own cardiovascular device sales in Germany.
MEDOS recognises AorTech's products as a quality range of
heart valve replacements and anticipate significant sales
growth over the next two years.'
