Route1 Launches The Mobi Solution, The New Out-of-Office Computing Experience

Finally, a Comprehensive Remote Computing Solution that Merges Mobility
with Security

TORONTO, June 9 /CNW/ - Route1 Launch Day - It's the type of nightmare
scenario that should keep IT managers and corporate officers up at night.
Sensitive information is compromised because a mobile employee's laptop has
been stolen or hacked through its wireless connection. And under compliance
and privacy regulations, the threat of prosecution is very real. Yet each day
a large percentage of the over 80 million remote and mobile workers in Canada
and the U.S. (Cahners In-Stat/MDR, Route1) lug around sensitive corporate
information and private data on a laptop, and thefts and attacks on wireless
devices are becoming more prevalent. But there is a viable alternative that
ensures a mobile worker can use all their desktop applications and data with
uncompromising security.
Route1(TM) (TSX-V:ROI), an innovator in wireless remote computing, today
launched its groundbreaking Mobi Solution. Comprising of the MobiBook PRO
device and the managed MobiNET(TM) service, the Mobi Solution automatically
utilizes all of the existing wireless and mobile network infrastructures
available today - data cellular, WiFi, and LAN - to give users seamless and
secure control of their desktop and corporate data. The Mobi Solution comes
pre-configured with all the functionality and essential security requirements
that allow users to remotely operate their office applications, but unlike
existing remote access solutions, all applications and data with the Mobi
Solution remain safely behind the corporate firewall.

Remoting: The New Out-of-Office Computing Experience
"The Mobi Solution is an all round benefit to us," said Richard Stone,
President and CEO, Stone & Co. Limited, a national mutual fund and investment
counseling firm. "Our Regional Sales Managers can use all their applications
and data from a desktop that is identical to what they normally run. Our IT
staff doesn't need to manage and administer remote configurations or worry
about data residing on the remote system. The built-in security gives us peace
of mind."
"Security concerns for wireless and mobile devices are continuing to
rise. In 2005, nearly half of recorded digital attacks will target the
wireless and mobile user," said Cheryl Currid, President Currid & Company.
"The Mobi Solution elegantly addresses all of the security concerns that
organizations everywhere worry about by delivering a robust pre-configured
thin-client system with PKI certificates and authentication safeguards
built in."
"The fundamental component of the Mobi Solution is MobiNET, which is
a new paradigm for delivering remoting services," said Andrew White, CEO,
Route1. "The service is developed around our unique workSecure(TM) technology
and Seamless Workspace(TM) architecture, which keeps users persistently
connected, safely switching between networks while managing secure sessions
even in the middle of a document edit."

Specifications and Availability
The Mobi Solution consists of the MobiBook PRO hardware device that is
based on the NETBOOK PRO hardware from Psion Teklogix, a 2.4 lbs. full-
featured, solid-state handheld computer with an Intel XScale processor running
Microsoft Windows CE.NET 4.2. The system includes a resistive touch screen for
pen navigation and 58-key touch-type keyboard. It comes with an AC adapter and
can run for up to 10 hours on battery. Internet connectivity is provided via
wired Ethernet, Wi-Fi (802.11b), GSM/GPRS/EDGE or CDMA 1xRTT (an optional
serial modem is also available) and is easily upgradeable to new high-speed
wireless networks, such as WiMAX, as they become available. The system comes
configured with the MobiRemote(TM) and MobiHost(TM) applications that manage
and integrate all the necessary connections and session security, which is
based on RSA KEON and RSA BSAFE technologies, through the MobiNET service.
The Mobi Solution is expected to ship by the end of June 2005.
