[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Jan. 16 /CNW/ - Century II Holdings Inc. announced the\nretirement of the Honourable John C. Wise, P.C., as a Director of the\nCorporation effective December 31, 2005. Mr. Wise has been a Director of the\nCorporation since March, 1997.\nMr. Wise was a fifth generation dairy farmer and was active in farm\norganizations and in municipal politics and planning for more than 15 years\nbefore his election to Parliament. He served as Councillor, Deputy Reeve and\nReeve of Yarmouth Township through the 1960s and became Warden of Elgin County\nin 1969. Three years later, he was elected MP for Elgin, a seat he held\nthrough five consecutive elections until 1988, when he did not run. As well,\nin 1979 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture. Four years later, he held\nthe same portfolio in Brian Mulroney's majority government.\nThe Corporation wishes to thank Mr. Wise for his many contributions over\nthe years and wish him well during his retirement.\nThe Board will continue with one vacant seat until the Annual General\nMeeting at which time a replacement will be nominated for Shareholder\napproval.\n\nAbout Century II Holdings Inc.
