[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, April 16 /CNW/ - Gitennes Exploration Inc. (TSX-GIT) is\npleased to report that geologists working for the Company have recently\ncompleted a brief mapping and sampling programme on the TotoRoko Property.\nResults are highly encouraging, with the mineralized zone being traced in\npatchy outcrop along a 3,500-metre strike length. The property has been\nincreased in size to 5,000 hectares. TotoRoko is a grassroots prospecting\ndiscovery made by the Company and is located in west-central Peru.\n\n\nCopper-silver-gold mineralization at surface is oxidized, with secondary\nminerals such as matrix-filling and disseminated chrysocola and malachite\noccurring within highly metasomatized, Jurassic-aged volcanic tuffs and\nrelated sediments. Recent work suggests that this mineralization is confined\nto a bedded tuff unit that dips down-slope at forty degrees and maybe 10 to 50\nmetres thick. Additional zones are likely present.\n\n\nA new area of copper-silver mineralization has now been found at least\n1,500 metres further northwest than the original showings. This new zone shows\nsimilar characteristics, with copper-bearing, silicified volcanic rocks\nenveloped by an epidote-garnet-magnetite skarn. Mineralization appears to\nstrike in a north-westerly direction into an area of anomalous stream sediment\nanomalies that has not been prospected. The 1,500 metre "gap" between the two\nprospects has also not been prospected in detail.
