(\"Resverlogix\" or the \"Company\") (TSX:RVX) announced today that it has closed the previously announced extension of the Company's loan. The maturity date of the $68.8 million loan has been extended to December 26, 2017 on the terms and conditions that were announced on August 28, 2017.\n\nThe Company also announced a private placement of 3,000,000 equity units at a price of $1.50 per unit, whereby each unit will be comprised of one common share and one-half common share purchase warrant. Each warrant will be exercisable at a price of $1.50 per share for a period of 4 years from the closing of the offering. The units will be subject to a four-month hold period. The Company has accepted subscriptions for the full amount of the offering and closing is scheduled to occur on or about September 7, 2017, subject only to receipt of all necessary regulatory and stock exchange approvals. The private placement is unrelated to the potential strategic transaction recently announced by the Company.\n\nThe net proceeds of the offering will be used to fund research and development activities, including but not limited to, clinical trial activities related to the Phase 3 BETonMACE trial, general and administrative expenses, working capital needs and other general corporate purposes.\n\nAbout Resverlogix\n\nResverlogix is developing apabetalone (RVX-208), a first-in-class, small molecule that is a selective BET (bromodomain and extra-terminal) inhibitor. BET bromodomain inhibition is an epigenetic mechanism that can regulate disease-causing genes. Apabetalone is the first and only BET inhibitor selective for the second bromodomain (BD2) within the BET protein called BRD4.
