(\"Resverlogix\" or the \"Company\") (TSX:RVX) is pleased to announce that a recently submitted paper titled: \"Downregulation of the Complement Cascade In Vitro, in Mice and in Patients with Cardiovascular Disease by the BET Protein Inhibitor Apabetalone (RVX-208)\" was published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research. The Company also provided details of its upcoming participation in an upcoming industry conference.\n\nApabetalone Published In Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research\n\nThis publication discusses how through transcriptional regulation, apabetalone modulates pathways that underlie cardiovascular disease (CVD) including reverse cholesterol transport, vascular inflammation, coagulation, and complement a pathway which includes many CVD risk factors that are dysregulated. Using advanced technologies such as transcriptomics and proteomics the data clearly illustrated that complement is one of the pathways most downregulated by apabetalone in cells and in plasma from CVD patients previously treated with apabetalone. Plasma proteomics of CVD patients shows that apabetalone significantly decreases complement proteins and regulators indicating decreased activity of complement in patients.
