("Resverlogix" or the\n"Company") (TSX:RVX) is pleased to announce the formation of the Steering\nCommittee for the RVX-208 Phase 2b clinical trial assessing atherosclerosis by\nIVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound). This is a study in Acute Coronary Syndrome\npatients expected to start in 2009.\n\n\n"We are honored to have an experienced and highly esteemed group of\ninternationally recognized cardiologists to lead this important IVUS\natherosclerosis study," said Mr. Donald J. "ApoA-IMilano infusions have previously been shown to be the most\nefficient means to reduce atherosclerosis, we will now test the hypothesis\nthat a permanent endogenous ApoA-I increase by oral administration of RVX-208\nhas the same capacity".\n\n\nAppointed members of the Phase 2b IVUS Steering Committee include:\n\n Chairman: Dr. Steven Nissen, M.D., Chairman of the Department of\n Cardiovascular Medicine located on the main campus of Cleveland\n Clinic.\n\n Principal Investigator: Dr. Stephen Nicholls, M.B.B.S, Ph.D., Medical\n Director of Intravascular Ultrasound and Angiography Core\n Laboratories at Cleveland Clinic and Clinical Director of the\n Cleveland Clinic Center for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and\n Prevention.\n\n Dr. Christie M. Ballantyne, M.D., Associate Chief and Professor,\n Section of Atherosclerosis and Lipoprotein Research, Baylor College\n of Medicine, Houston, Texas.\n\n Dr. John J.P. Kastelein, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine and\n Chairman of the Department of Vascular Medicine at the Academic\n Medical Centre (AMC) of the University of Amsterdam, where he holds\n the Strategic Chair of Genetics of Cardiovascular Disease and is the\n Director of the Atherosclerosis Research Group.\n\n Dr. Allen Taylor, M.D., Chief, Cardiology Service, Professor of\n Medicine, USUHS Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.\n\n\nThe role of the Steering Committee is to provide overall supervision of\nthe trial and ensure that it is being conducted in accordance with the\nprinciples of Good Clinical Practice and FDA regulations.
