[{"type":"text","content":"\n Radstone Technology PLC\n07 August 2006\n\n\nFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 7 August 2006\n\n\n\n Radstone Technology PLC ('Radstone')\n\n $6 Million Order From Astronautics\n\n Processors, switches will equip Airbus A400M military aircraft\n\n\nRadstone Technology, the world's leading independent supplier of\nhigh-performance, embedded computer products for defence and aerospace\napplications, announces today that it has received an order valued at close to\n$6 million (approx. £3.2 million) from Astronautics Corporation of America, in\nsupport of the A400M program, reaffirming the company's leadership position in\nthe field of rugged military computing solutions.\n\nThe order includes Radstone's IMP2A 3U CompactPCI processor, IXT2B Intel\nPentium-based processor and GBX16 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch, all built to\nRadstone's maximum ruggedization level.\n\nThe IMP2A, IXT2B and GBX16 will form part of Astronautics' Network Server System\nwhich will be installed on the Airbus Military A400M - the first military\ntransport plane to be developed by Airbus. This four-engine turboprop aircraft,\noriginally designed to meet the demand of European nations for military airlift\nis expected to be in service from 2009. The Airbus A400M will operate in many\nconfigurations including cargo transport, troop transport, MEDEVAC and aerial\nrefueling.\n\nJeff Perrin, Radstone Technology's Chief Executive, commented:\n\n\"We're delighted that Astronautics has chosen Radstone to be part in this\nprestigious project.
