At today's annual general meeting, all resolutions (as laid out in the Notice
of Meeting, excluding the re-election of Mr L Brook, who retired prior to the
date of the meeting) were passed.
Also, David McMurtry, the Chairman and Chief Executive, stated:
'I am pleased to report that turnover for the first three months of this year
has been well ahead of that for the first three months of last year. Moreover,
despite continuing increases, as planned, in expenditure on research and
development and marketing, operating profit for the first three months has
also been ahead of that for the comparable period last year.
Improvements in manufacturing efficiencies continue to be made.
It is too soon to make forecasts for the current year but, as I said in my
year-end statement, we confidently look forward to continued progress.'
