In total, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield serves 3.4 million members in Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia, as well as the Federal Employee Program (FEP), also known as the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan which is part of the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program administered by CareFirst.
