(\"REGI\" or \"RGUS\" or \"the Company\") REGI U.S., INC. www.radmaxtech.com and its wholly owned subsidiary, RadMax Technologies, Inc., announce that a provisional patent application has been filed with the U.S. patent office for the use of RadMax two-phase compressors and expanders to increase the efficiency of Rankine cycle steam electricity generation plants.\n According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), approximately 85% of electricity produced in the U.S. was generated by steam power plants in 2016. Analysis shows that the use of Radmax two-phase expanders and compressors can potentially increase overall plant efficiency by an average of 16% for power plants using steam to produce electricity. If RadMax devices were implemented in all relevant plants, approximately 1.7 billion equivalent barrels of oil, and about 560 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions could be saved annually in the U.S. Or, annual electricity production could be increased 1.5 billion kWh at current fuel consumption levels. Current analysis estimates a payback period of 2 5 years for retrofitting RadMax equipment in applicable plants. RadMax Technologies recently filed a concept paper on the use of RadMax two-phase compressors and expanders for increased steam power plant efficiency in response to a Department of Energy announcement that funds are available for the development of new high-potential, high-impact energy technologies.
