EDMONTON, July 29 /CNW/ - Solid Resources Ltd. ("Solid" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Donald R. Thonger to the Board of Directors. Donald Thonger has served as Chairman, Founder or President of several companies involved in the oil and gas exploration and service industries. Mr. Thonger was the cofounder of Pulse Surveys in 1982 and then formed Response Seismic Surveys in 1988. He has been involved in real estate development in Canada and the US and maintains his position as President of Ardis Land Corporation a Charlotte NC based company. Mr. Thonger is the current Chairman of GroundBreaking Community Solutions a large scale affordable housing development company and he operates his own investment company Derby Explorations Ltd from head office in Calgary.
Mr. Thonger is a graduate of the University of Tulsa, Tulsa Oklahoma and currently serves on the board of directors of Dynastar Inc (TSX-V DDC). He holds a BSc, and a BA.
Concurrent with Mr. Thonger's appointment, the Company has granted to him an aggregate of 150,000 options to purchase common shares of the Company. The options expire at the end of five years and the exercise price is $.24 per share.
