[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n GenSpera, \n Inc. (OTC/QB: GNSZ), a biotech company developing a novel prodrug \n therapeutic for the treatment of cancer, announces that President and \n CEO Craig A. Dionne, Ph.D., has issued the following letter to \n stockholders.\n \n \n To My Fellow Stockholders:\n \n \n During 2015 GenSpera made substantial progress in developing our lead \n drug candidate, mipsagargin, a first-in-class agent with a novel \n mechanism of action that we believe has the potential to treat various \n types of solid tumors without the side effects associated with \n conventional cancer therapies. Let me share with you why we are excited \n about 2016 as we continue to advance our business strategy, and also \n review our achievements over the past year.\n \n \n Our Goals for 2016\n \n \n Clinical Development of MipsagarginPhase 2 Glioblastoma \n (Brain Cancer) StudyDuring 2016 we will continue to enroll \n patients in our Phase 2 study to evaluate mipsagargin for the treatment \n of recurrent glioblastoma. Currently being conducted at the UC San Diego \n Moores Cancer Center, we are planning to extend the primarily \n investigator-sponsored study to the John Wayne Cancer Institute in the \n first quarter of 2016. The expanded study will enroll up to 34 total \n patients. To date, we have treated 19 patients, including one patient \n with a partial response at 11 months. We expect to have additional \n interim data from this trial in the first quarter of 2016 and final data \n in the fourth quarter of 2016. The results can help us define enrichment \n strategies for future trials, such as enrolling only patients who would \n be expected to be potential responders.\n \n \n Prior to the completion of our Phase 2 study and assuming adequate \n funding, we plan to initiate a Phase 2b/3 trial in multiple sites \n worldwide, with a primary endpoint of overall survival. We expect to \n begin this trial in the fourth quarter of 2016.\n \n \n Phase 2 Prostate Cancer StudyProstate cancer affects \n hundreds of thousands of men each year in the U.S. alone. We believe \n that mipsagargin has the potential to treat prostate cancer because of \n its unique mechanism of action that targets Prostate-Specific Membrane \n Antigen (PSMA), an enzyme initially discovered to be highly expressed on \n the surface of prostate cancer cells. We expect to initiate...
