[{"type":"text","content":"\n 4 January 2010\n\n Real Estate Investors plc\n (\"REI\" or the \"Company\")\n\n CBE in New Year's Honours List\n\nReal Estate Investors plc (AIM : RLE), the West Midlands based property\ncompany, is delighted to announce its Chief Executive, Paul Bassi, has been\nawarded a CBE in the New Year's Honours List announced on 31 December 2009.\n\nMr Bassi has been given the Honour in recognition for his services to business\nand to the community in the West Midlands.\n\nMr Bassi is the current President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and his\nprevious roles include Regional Chairman for Coutts Bank (West Midlands). Mr\nBassi is also Chairman of Bond Wolfe and Bigwood Chartered Surveyors and a\nDirector of Birmingham Hippodrome.\n\nIn addition to his commercial interests, Mr Bassi is an active supporter of a\nnumber of charitable, cultural and community organisations. Mr Bassi is\ncurrently High Sheriff for the County of West Midlands for 2009/2010 and was\nappointed Deputy Lieutenant for County of West Midlands in 2008. In January\n2009, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Birmingham City University. In\n2003 Mr Bassi was awarded the Price Waterhouse Cooper Entrepreneur of the Year\naward, in 2005 he was the youngest ever recipient of the Lloyds TSB (Central\nEngland) Life Time Achievement Award, and in 1999 he chaired the historic\ntwinning of Sandwell and Amritsar. In 2007, he formed the Bond Wolfe Charitable\nTrust that raises funds for worthy local causes, regardless of caste, colour,\ncreed, age, sex, religion or disability.\n\nPaul Bassi said:\n\"I am delighted to receive this Honour. This recognises the support I have\nreceived from my family, the efforts of all my colleagues and staff within the\nbusiness and the various organisations that I have worked with.
