He succeeds Peter McCann, who leaves after 28 years with the Group.\n\nPhil Urban's previous roles have included managing directorships of both Whitbread's pub restaurants division and Scottish & Newcastle's restaurants and accommodation division.\n\nIan Burke, chief executive of Rank said: 'I am delighted that Phil has chosen to join us as managing director of our casinos business at this time of change and opportunity in the gaming industry.
