Telemedicus is an advanced on-board communications and data system for emergency vehicles and portable military installations. LipidLabs expects to acquire this exciting new life-saving technology and commercialize it for delivery to the medical community. Telemedicus was formed in partnership with Texas A&M University and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.\n\nTelemedicus includes an array of computer-based communications, medical monitoring and global positioning equipment mounted in emergency vehicles such as ambulances and life-flight helicopters. Through high-quality video, doctors in hospital emergency rooms can see and direct the first responders' treatment of the patient. This technology improves trauma victims' probability of survival, especially in remote areas and battlefields beyond the physical reach of medical specialists in well-equipped trauma centers. \n\nThe Telemedicus technology has been tested in field operations since 2003 in Houston and in Liberty County, Texas. It can be used to treat trauma casualties anywhere conventional advanced emergency medical treatment is unavailable - in military operations, offshore drilling operations and in rural areas.\n\n\"This technology is already saving lives,\" stated LipidLabs' President Thomas Cloud. \"We are excited about getting this product into thousands of ambulances and emergency locations as fast as possible.
