[{"type":"text","content":"\n PZ CUSSONS PLC\n01 June 2006\n\n\n1 June 2006\n\n PZ Cussons Plc\n\n Pre-Close Statement\n\nPZ Cussons Plc today issues the following pre-close statement in respect of the\nyear ended 31 May 2006.\n\nThe Group anticipates that profits* for the full year will be in line with\nexpectations.\n\nAs indicated in the interim statement, the positive signs experienced in the\nfirst half have continued for the remainder of the year, although trading in\nsome territories has remained challenging with pressure on margins. Margin\nimprovement initiatives continue to counter further cost increases arising from\noil price increases and the weakening of the dollar.\n\nIn its key markets, trading comments are as follows:\n\nIn the group's main market Nigeria, trading in the second half has been strong.\nThe new milk factory, constructed with joint venture partner Glanbia Plc, is\nperforming well with sales above expectations.
