RIMOUSKI, Aug. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Puma Exploration has recently completed its first 2005, program on the Sainte-Marguerite property and will now commence a gold resource evaluation that could lead to an open pit mining operation on the "Fraser 3" zone that is contained within the much larger Fraser zone. The gold mineralization in the "Fraser 3" zone is defined by 12 recently drilled vertical holes between 18 and 40 metres deep for a total of 350 metres. The continuity of the Fraser 3 mineralization has been evaluated over a strike distance of 160 metres, with a drill spacing of 20 metres, including earlier drilling. The recent drill programs has confirmed the presence and continuity of two mineralized zones containing sub-horizontal, gold-bearing quarts veins over strike distances of 35 and 70 metres, respectively. The best samples obtained from the mineralized zones, which remain open at both ends, carry gold values from 1.6 gms/t to 40.8 gms/t Au. << Hole Inclination From To Width Au No. (m) (m) (m) (g/t) F05-05 90 degrees 12.1 12.45 0.35 4.8 F05-06 90 degrees 9.5 9.7 0.2 40.8 F05-06 90 degrees 9.5 10.5 1.0 11.1 F05-08 90 degrees 10 12 2.0 2.3 F05-09 90 degrees 27.8 29.4 1.6 1.8 F05-11 90 degrees 32 32.3 0.3 1.6 >> This evaluation program will allow Puma Exploration to estimate the economic value of the "Fraser 3" zone and to plan further definition drilling in advance of a mining decision. The evaluation program will incorporate all data, including data from the 50 drill holes drilled prior to 2005 which have defined the 650 metre-long Fraser zone that remains open toward east.
