(NASDAQ: PBYI), a biopharmaceutical company, announced financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2022. Unless otherwise stated, all comparisons are for the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021.\n\nProduct revenue, net consists entirely of revenue from sales of NERLYNX®, Puma’s first commercial product. Product revenue, net in the first quarter of 2022 was $40.7 million, compared to product revenue, net of $45.8 million in the first quarter of 2021.\n\nBased on accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP), Puma reported net loss of $3.4 million, or $0.08 per basic and diluted share, for the first quarter of 2022, compared to net income of $16.5 million, or $0.41 per basic share and $0.40 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2021.\n\nNon-GAAP adjusted net loss was $0.3 million, or $0.01 per basic and diluted share, for the first quarter of 2022, compared to non-GAAP adjusted net income of $22.4 million, or $0.56 per basic share and $0.55 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2021. Non-GAAP adjusted net income excludes stock-based compensation expense.
