About this update from Protokinetix, Inc.

[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n ProtoKinetix, Incorporated (OTCQB:PKTX) \n (the \"Company\" or \"ProtoKinetix\") (www.protokinetix.com) \n is pleased to announce that a paper submitted by Dr. Kevin Gregory-Evans \n on ProtoKinetix’ AAGP™ has been accepted by the Journal of Tissue \n Engineering and Regenerative Medicine for publication. The date of \n publication is unknown at this time but should be available online in \n advance of the printed version. AAGP™, an antifreeze glycopeptide, has \n been demonstrated to significantly improve the viable yield of stem \n cells transplanted in retinal tissue at the University of British \n Columbia under the guidance of Dr. Kevin Gregory-Evans.\n \n \n Dr. Gregory-Evans concluded that embryonic cells treated with AAGP™ and \n transplanted into retina tissue, an accepted model for the central \n nervous system, compared to the control group not treated was 300% more \n viable.\n \n \n Dr. Gregory-Evans proposes that AAGP™ works by inhibiting toxic \n signaling from surrounding necrotic tissue. Necrotic tissue is dead \n tissue, which usually results from an inadequate local blood supply. \n Necrotic tissue contains dead cells and debris that are a consequence of \n the fragmentation of dying cells.\n \n \n ”AAGP™ could be a huge benefit to the future of Pre-clinical and \n Clinical transplantation medicine,” said Dr. Kevin \n Gregory-Evans. He added, “AAGP™ will revolutionize transplantation \n medicine across the board.”\n \n \n The significance of these results may have far reaching implications. In \n addition to cell, tissue and organ transplantations, there are strong \n implications that AAGP™ may have powerful applications for the treatment \n of stroke and heart attack treatment.\n \n \n Dr. Kevin Gregory-Evans is currently Professor of Ophthalmology \n in the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia, and holder \n of the Julia Levy BC Leadership Chair in Macular Research, Vancouver, \n Canada.\n \n \n Dr. Gregory Evans' Bio is too extensive to repeat in full on this press \n release-his full Bio can be found at: http://protokinetix.com/about/kevin-gregory-evans/.\n \n \n Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine is a \n multidisciplinary journal that publishes research and reviews on the \n development ...
