Legal Settlement/Resignation
Creightons PLC
10 May 2001
Creightons plc
('the Company')
The Company is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the
disposal of part of its freehold land at Storrington, as agreed at the recent
EGM.
The Company further wishes to announce that John Frieda has settled its
passing off action against Creightons plc on agreed terms satisfactory to both
parties. Creightons plc have agreed to change the packaging of BlondE and make
a contribution to costs.
The Company also wishes to announce the resignation, on 9 May 2001, of Roger
Lane-Smith as Chairman of the Board and as a non-executive director of the
Company. Mr Lane-Smith has served as a non-executive director of the Company
for three and a half years, and became Chairman at the end of 1999.
During this time, he has helped guide the Company through a difficult trading
and business period, and he feels that, with the Company's situation now more
stabilised than in the recent past, and with the settlement of the above
dispute with John Frieda, the time is right for him to leave the Company.
The directors will make a further announcement in due course concerning the
appointment of a replacement non-executive director, and in the meantime, Mr
William McIlroy, executive Vice-chairman, will be acting Chairman of the
Company.
