[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nHAMILTON, ON, Oct. 24 /CNW/ - Quebec Cartier Mining Company announced\ntoday that Guy Dufresne will retire as President and Chief Executive Officer\nof QCM, effective October 31, 2006.\nJacques Chabanier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dofasco Inc.\nhas been appointed Chief Executive Officer of QCM, as of October 31, 2006. QCM\nis a subsidiary of Dofasco.\nFrancois Pelletier has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of QCM,\neffective October 31, 2006, and in this capacity he will report to Mr.\nChabanier. Mr. Pelletier joined QCM in 1976, advancing through management\npositions in accounting, information technology and treasury, until being\nappointed Vice President Human Resources in 1989. In that role, in 1995 Mr.\nPelletier's responsibilities grew to include corporate planning. He was\nappointed Vice President Operations Management of QCM in 1997.\nAs Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Pelletier will directly oversee QCM's\nMining Operations, Commercial, Technology and Human Resources activities.\nQCM's Finance and Legal functions will report directly to Mr. Chabanier.\nIn making this announcement, Mr. Chabanier said, \"The QCM Board wishes\nGuy a well-deserved and successful retirement.
