[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nHAMILTON, ON, May 26 /CNW/ - Brian MacNeill, Chair of the Board of\nDofasco Inc., announced today that Dofasco President and Chief Executive\nOfficer, Don Pether, has indicated he will retire from his current\nresponsibilities, effective July 21, 2006. On behalf of Dofasco's Board, Mr.\nMacNeill also announced that Jacques Chabanier will be appointed President and\nChief Executive Officer to succeed Mr. Pether, effective the same date.\nThe Board is pleased that Mr. Pether will become non-executive Chair of\nDofasco's Board of Directors, also effective July 21, at which time Mr.\nMacNeill will resign from Dofasco's Board to help facilitate a seamless\nsuccession in the leadership of the company.\nMichel Wurth, Vice-CEO of Arcelor S.A., commented, \"I am grateful for the\npositive mindset and fruitful cooperation that has been built with Brian\nMacNeill and the Dofasco Board members to smooth the transition and launch a\nremarkably efficient integration process. He served in various leadership\npositions at Dofasco, including Plant Metallurgist, General Sales Manager,\nVice President - Commercial, Executive Vice President Dofasco Inc. & General\nManager Dofasco Hamilton, and President & Chief Operating Officer.\nMr. Chabanier has been working with Dofasco's leadership team since\nDofasco was acquired by Arcelor in February of this year, helping to\nfacilitate the integration of the two companies.\n\"Jacques has had an opportuni...
