[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n 26 September 2006\n\n PipeHawk Plc \n\n (\"PipeHawk\") \n\n Ofcom Issues PipeHawk with GPR Radio Operating Licences \n\nPipeHawk announces that Ofcom has issued the first licences to operate GPR\nequipment to PipeHawk plc and Adien Limited, heralding the official acceptance\nof GPR as a maturing technology.\n\nPrior to this, the legislative status of GPR as a technology was ambiguous with\nEuro GPR Association members operating under a waiver.\n\nGPR is a UWB technology that radiates short duration pulses which appear in the\nfrequency domain as a very low signal across wide spectral regions and does not\nfit into the normal radio licensing regime.\n\nThe UK licensing arrangements were negotiated by Dr Richard Chignell,\nPipeHawk's Technical Director, a past Chairman and currently licensing officer\nof the Euro GPR Association.\n\nNegotiations continue, for a consistent Europe wide licensing regime. The Board\nexpects that the new UK scheme will have a seamless transition to the\nanticipated European scheme.\n\nGordon Watt, Chairman of PipeHawk plc, said\n\n\"This is a significant advance for PipeHawk as it means GPR is now an\nacknowledged and regulated technology, and all companies which purport to use\nGPR must now be registered and regulated to operate legally.\"\n\nPipehawk Plc Telephone: 01420 590990\n \nGordon Watt (Chief Executive) \n\n\n \n ","length":1783,"tagName":"div"}]
