[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nNorth Carolina State University, the University of Delaware and the Tampa\nHousing Authority receive funding to enhance their Safe-T-element cooking\nsystem Fire Prevention Programs.\n\n\nMISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Pioneering Technology Corp. of\nMississauga, Ontario (TSX-V: PTE), ("Pioneering") was advised today that North\nCarolina State University, the University of Delaware and the Tampa Housing\nAuthority have been awarded funding from the first installment of the U.S.\nDepartment of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA)\nFire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) grant program for the purchase and\ninstalation of Pioneering Technology's Safe-T-element cooking technology.\nCollectively the three institutions received funding of approximately $388,000\nfor their programs.\n\n\nAll three of these institutions have previously purchased and installed\nthe technology in their residential housing facilities. Based on the success\nof their installation programs they applied for additional funding as part of\nthe FP&S program to bring a higher level of safety and energy efficiency to\ntheir tenants.\n\n\nPioneering Technology CEO, Kevin Callahan said, "Our success in helping\nto prevent the number one cause of household fire is now starting to take\nhold. DHS has seen institutions apply for funding for this product over the\npast couple of years, a few of whom have been successful. DHS now clearly\nunderstands how the Safe-T-element works and that it is a product that does\nexactly what the program is supposed to do - prevent cooking fires, protect\nproperties, save lives and keep firefighters out of harm's way."\n\n\nThe Fire Prevention and Safety Grants (FP&S) are part of the Assistance\nto Firefighters Grants (AFG) and are under the purview of the Grant Programs\nDirectorate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FP&S grants\nsupport projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from\nfire and related hazards. The primary goal is to target high-risk populations\nand mitigate high incidences of death and injury.
