The delivery ceremony for the\n \n Viking Amun\n \n took place at Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt.\n \n\n “As we continue to expand our award-winning fleet around the world, we are delighted to welcome the\n \n Viking Amun\n \n ,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking. “These identical sister ships are the most elegant vessels on the Nile, and we are now pleased to offer even more opportunities for curious travelers to explore Egypt in Viking comfort.”\n \n\n\n The\n \n Viking Amun\n \n & Viking’s Growing Egypt Fleet\n \n\n\n Hosting 82 guests in 41 staterooms, the\n \n Viking Amun\n \n is built specifically to navigate the Nile River on Viking’s popular 12-day\n \n\n Pharaohs & Pyramids\n \n\n itinerary. Inspired by Viking’s award-winning river and ocean ships, the\n \n Viking Amun\n \n features the elegant Scandinavian design for which Viking is known. An identical sister ship to the\n \n\n Viking Osiris\n \n\n\n ,\n \n the\n \n\n Viking Aton\n \n\n , the\n \n\n Viking Sobek\n \n\n and the\n \n\n Viking Hathor\n \n\n , the\n \n Viking Amun\n \n features several aspects familiar to Viking guests, such as a distinctive square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace. Together, these are the most modern sister ships sailing the Nile River. Other ships in Viking’s Egypt fleet include the\n \n\n Viking Ra\n \n\n\n\n and the\n \n\n MS Antares\n \n\n . In addition to the\n \n Viking Amun,\n \n Viking plans to welcome five other new ships in Egypt in the next two years, which will bring the company’s fleet to 12 vessels on the Nile River by 2027.\n \n\n Viking remains focused on well-defined, long-term growth plans as part of a strategy toward maintaining a leadership position in experiential travel.
