PDS has signed an agreement to distribute the ProGenie range,\ndeveloped by Screen's Petards Mobile Intelligence subsidiary ('PMI').\n\n\n\nWith over 45,000 terminals installed at Deutsche Post alone, Cologne-based PDS\nalso has substantial installations in major European parcel delivery,\ntransportation and retail companies.\n\n\n\nPMI, the mobile data terminal and in-car video specialist is better known for\nsolutions provided to the world's police forces through popular television\nprogrammes like Police Camera Action and Motorway Madness. PMI develops and\nmanufactures the ProGenie range of rugged Handheld PCs that are equally at\nhome in a vehicle or in your hand.\n\n\n\nPMI has used its extensive knowledge of the mobile data market to produce the\nnext generation of 'ruggedised' handheld PCs. ProGenie is equally at home in\nits vehicle-docking cradle or in the user's hand, it spans the laptop versus\npocket PC dilemma. Designed to deliver mobile computing at an affordable\nprice, ProGenie packs features such as GSM/GPRS, packet data or wireless LAN\ncommunication options, GPS positioning, 2D Barcode scanning and 2GB of data\nstorage, all behind a 7 inch wide colour VGA touch screen.\n\n\n\nPDS is the first German distributor for the ProGenie range of PCs. Last year,\nPDS's annual turnover was DM45 million. Other Screen products are distributed\nin 46 countries around the world, including Germany.\n\n\n\nCommenting Herbert Schmid, President of PDS said: 'ProGenie is a very exciting\nproduct.
