PARADIGM INITIATES PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, August 12, 2010 -- Paradigm Medical Industries, Inc. (OTC.PK: PDMI)
announced today that in a continuing commitment to its product development it has completed scheduled improvements and upgrades to the following products:
The LD 400™ is an autoperimeter used to measure patient visual fields. Upgrades to the LD 400 are progressing on schedule and the new model of the LD 400 will be introduced at the Chicago meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) in October 2010.
The Blood Flow Analyzer™ is also being improved and will have some of the new enhancements introduced at the AAO meeting. The Company will also introduce its new tip design for the BFA. This new tip is being evaluated for consideration to replace the current sterile tip as a clean tip. If implemented, this change could eliminate the high cost of sterilization which would result in a cost savings to Paradigm and its customers.
The P60™ UBM Ultrasound Biomicroscope utilizes microscopic digital ultrasound resolution for the detection of tumors and improved glaucoma management. The P60 is also scheduled for software and hardware upgrades. These will be completed later in the year. These improvements will result in improved images and easier user interaction.
And an Update: The Paramax™, which is the next generation of standard quality electrophysiology for the early detection of glaucoma and other optic nerve diseases, such as age-related maculopathy and vascular retinal degeneration, remains under review with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The latest information received from Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici (CSO), Paradigm’s Italian partner, indicates that there appears to be no major obstacles standing in the way of the Paramax™ receiving 510(k) approval from the FDA. Upon receipt of FDA approval, Paradigm will begin selling the Paramax™ in the United States.
