Rothmans Inc. announces appointment of new CFO

TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - John Barnett, President and CEO of Rothmans
Inc. announced today that Michael Frater has been appointed Vice President
Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Rothmans Inc. and Vice President
Finance and Administration of its 60% owned operating subsidiary Rothmans,
Benson & Hedges Inc. The appointments are effective November 1, 2005.
Mr. Frater, who is a Chartered Accountant and a Professional Engineer, has
been with RBH for almost 10 years and is currently the Director, Finance of
RBH. Mr. Frater is replacing Paul R. Jewer, who is leaving Rothmans on
October 31, to become the chief financial officer of another publicly traded
Canadian corporation.
