Statement re Suspension

Ormonde Mining PLC 13 December 2000 Ormonde Mining plc ('Ormonde' or 'the Company') The board of Ormonde wish to advise shareholders that the proposed refinancing and restructuring, as referred to in the announcement on 22 September, 2000, has taken longer than anticipated. Having regard to this delay and to the prevailing uncertainty that the refinancing can be successfully concluded, the board has requested that the Irish Stock Exchange suspend dealing in Ormonde shares on the Exploration Securities Market. This suspension is effective immediately and will remain in operation pending clarification of the financial position of the Company.
