[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ormonde Mining PLC\n05 December 2005\n\n05 December 2005\n\n\n\nOrmonde Mining plc\n\n\n\nPositive Results from Initial Gold Recovery Tests, La Zarza Gold-Copper Project\n\n\n\nDUBLIN & LONDON: 05 December 2005 - Ormonde Mining plc (\"Ormonde\" or \"the\nCompany\") reports positive developments in gold recovery tests on a sample from\nthe La Zarza Gold-Copper Project in southern Spain.\n\n\n\nInitial tests on the Gold Composite sample show that:\n\n\n\n • Up to 60 per cent of the gold can be recovered by standard flotation\n procedures to first stage copper and lead concentrates; final cleaned\n concentrates should be saleable directly to smelters.\n\n\n\n • Up to a further 30 per cent of the gold goes into a pyrite concentrate;\n ongoing testwork, including ultra-fine grinding and leaching, will determine\n the amount of additional gold that can be extracted from this pyrite\n concentrate.\n\n\n\n • A combination of gold recovered to saleable flotation concentrates and\n gold recovered from pyrite concentrates should achieve total gold recoveries\n higher than originally targeted.\n\n\n\n\n\nKerr Anderson, Managing Director, said today,\n\n\n\n\"The unexpected recovery of a significant proportion of the gold by standard\nflotation to copper and lead concentrates is a very positive development which\ngives the Company considerable confidence in the testwork programme. I believe\nthat we are on track to achieve at least our target gold recovery and, together\nwith our recent high copper recovery results, this is an early but very\nsignificant step towards proving the viability of the La Zarza project.\"\n\n\n\n\n\nThe metallurgical testwork programme, being carried out by Wardell Armstrong\nInternational in Cornwall, U.K., is investigating the most appropriate method to\nrecover the economic minerals from gold and copper resources at La Zarza. Two\ncomposite samples, the \"Gold Composite\" and the \"Copper Composite\", are being\ntested. On 14th November the Company reported that initial testwork on the\nCopper Composite has indicated copper recoveries in excess of 80 per cent, with\nfurther optimization steps in progress.\n\n\n\nFollow-up testwork, including cleaning, optimization and variability testwork,\nwill be ongoing through to early 2006.
