[{"type":"text","content":"\n Ormonde Mining PLC\n16 April 2008\n\n16 April 2008\n\n\n\n Ormonde Mining plc\n\n\n\n Steve Nicol Joins Ormonde Board as Chief Operating Officer\n\n\n\nDUBLIN & LONDON: 16 April 2008 - Ormonde Mining plc (\"Ormonde\" or the \"Company\")\nis pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Stephen (\"Steve\") John Nicol to\nOrmonde's Board as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect.\n\n\n\nMr. Nicol is a Mining Engineer with over 20 years experience in the mining\nindustry, initially in operations and subsequently in mine evaluation and\ndevelopment projects. He has held production supervisory roles in various\nunderground and open pit mines in Australia and Europe, culminating in a two\nyear period as Managing Director of Sardinia Gold Mines SpA in Italy. More\nrecently, Mr. Nicol has been operating as an independent consultant working on\ngold and base metal mine evaluation and development projects in Romania, Greece,\nItaly, Guinea, Kazakhstan, Canada and the Congo.\n\n\n\nMr. Nicol has an intimate knowledge of Ormonde's mining projects, having managed\nthe La Zarza Feasibility Study on behalf of Ormonde and more recently also taken\non the responsibilities of Project Manager for the evaluation and development of\nthe Company's Barruecopardo Tungsten Project.\n\n\n\nOrmonde's Chairman, Mike Donoghue commented,\n\n\n\n\"We are very pleased to welcome Steve to the Board. His considerable\noperational and development background will add further depth to the technical\nexperience already present at Board level. He will continue his project\nmanagement role for La Zarza and will now also take on the responsibility for\nfast-tracking the evaluation and development of the Barruecopardo Tungsten\nProject.\"\n\n\n\n\n\nSave as set out below there are no items requiring disclosure in accordance with\nSchedule 2 (g) iii-viii of the AIM Rules and the IEX Rules for Mr. Nicol.\n\n\n\nMr. Nicol, aged 44, has held the following directorships or partnerships in the\npast five years:\n\n\nCurrent Previous\nSuziru Ltd Sardinia Gold Mining SpA\n\n\n\nMr. Nicol was a director of Tanex Resources PLC (incorporated in England and\nWales, company number 04297592) for a portion of the 12 months prior to this\ncompany being placed into a Company Voluntary Arrangement in November 2003.
