[{"type":"text","content":"\n Orca Interactive Ltd\n28 November 2006\n\n\n\nOrca Interactive Selected by Sonaecom for Portugal's First IPTV Service\n\nClix SmarTV Assumes IPTV Service Control, Independence and Flexibility With\nOrca's Latest RiGHTv Release\n\n\n\nRA'anana, Israel - November 28, 2006 - Orca Interactive (LSE: ORCA), a global\nmarket leader in developing middleware and applications for IPTV, announced\ntoday that its IPTV middleware - RiGHTv has been deployed for the first IPTV\nservice in Portugal by Clix, the mass market brand of Sonaecom, a major\ntelecommunications provider.\n\n\n\nClix SmarTV will offer live broadcast television and radio channels, an\nelectronic programming guide (EPG), video on demand (VOD) and subscription video\non demand (SVOD). The service has been successfully deployed in the cities of\nLisbon and Porto. All major cities in Portugal will be covered in the full\ncommercial deployment that is expected to reach a large subscriber base in 2007.\n\n\n\nSonaecom is using Orca's RiGHTv release 4.5 that includes such benefits as:\n\n • Accelerating the time to market of new IPTV applications and services by\n using Orca's IPTV Service Delivery Platform (SDP)\n • Enabling rapid User Interface modifications and STB porting via the RiGHTv\n Subscriber User Interface Software Development Kit (SUI SDK)\n • Complete integration into the operator's OSS / BSS environment using\n standards-based APIs\n • Robust integration with Video server and CA / DRM\n • A rich interactive TV application suite\n\n\nTo provide Sonaecom with a solution at a short time to market, RiGHTv plug-in\narchitecture allowed rapid integration and central management of value chain\ncomponents. The solution value chain includes Amino and Kreatel/Motorola set-top\nboxes, Tandberg's SkyStream encoders, Kasenna video server, and Widevine content\nprotection over the network architecture of Huawei.\n\n\n\n'Orca's flexible middleware allowed us to develop our own user interface that\nfits the Portuguese market, and promotes and differentiates our brand,' said\nSusanna Barbato, Managing Director of IPTV services at Sonaecom.
