(TSXV:OPW) (FSE:A2PEAD) (OTC:OPWEF) (the\n“Company” or “Opawica”) is pleased to announce that it has\nentered into a property purchase and sale agreement to acquire a 100%\ninterest, subject to a 1.5% net smelter returns royalty, in an\nextension to the Chapel Island gold property located in the Exploits\nSubzone of central Newfoundland and Labrador.\n \n \n \n \n Blake Morgan, the Company’s President and CEO,\ncommented: “This new acquisition enhances Opawica’s current\nholdings of a 100% interest in 173 mineral claims totalling\napproximately 43.25 km\n \n \n 2\n \n \n that comprise the Chapel Island property.\n The Opawica team is eager to explore the property and will look to\nhave boots on the ground in the coming weeks”.\n \n \n \n \n Chapel Island Extension\nProperty\n \n \n \n \n The Chapel Island Extension Property is 350 hectares in\nsize and is contiguous to the Company’s existing Chapel Island\nproperty totalling 43.25 square kilometres.\n \n \n \n \n Known mineralization on the Chapel Island Extension\nProperty is described as pyrite-rich, sericitized Coaker Porphyry.\nMineralized samples came from sub-crop. One sample returned a value of\n1.7 g/t Au.\n \n \n Mineralization occurs in shear\nzone cutting argillites of the Dunnage melange in shear zone is\nsub-parallel to nearby contact with the Coaker Porphyry.\n \n \n \n \n The Chapel Island Property is underlain by rocks\nassigned to the Early Ordovician and younger Dunnage Melange, Middle\nOrdovician Coaker Porphyry, Middle Ordovician Puncheon Diorite and the\nEarly Devonian Loon Bay Batholith. The Chapel Island is mainly\nunderlain by the Dunnage Melange. The Dunnage Melange is composed of a\nheterogeneous sedimentary matrix, lacking consistent or continuous\nbedding, and supports a large number of clasts and blocks that are\nheterogeneous in lithology and distribution. Clasts and blocks range\nis size from granular to hundreds of metres in diameter and up to a\nkilometre in diameter. These clasts and blocks comprise less than 30%\nof the melange.
